"remanufactured" toner cartridges and have not been happy with the
quality. The last 3 TN360 cartridges we've purchased have all work perfect. If your brother stops printing telling you it is out of toner, but the page quality was good, take a look at youtube and search for brother TN360, you can put tape over two windows and keep printing until the quality is unacceptable.
Our most recent TN360 printed 4711 pages, nearly double the rating (and thus cutting the cost nearly in half). Your mileage may vary based on how much "stuff" is on each page you print, but we've been very happy."

like Brother's feature of shutting down the cartridge as soon as the
sensor says it's time. There's a round sensor on the right side of the
cartridge that shines a light that the printer senses. If you put
opaque tape over this hole, the cartridge will continue to function.

The toner thing was getting on my nerves, since it went low too early and as others have mentioned, you can't "shake and go" for longer life. Using the tip to cover the window on the right side of the cartridge with opaque tape, I have been through over 3 reams of paper and have put the fourth ream in earlier today, on that same cartridge that was at "end of toner life". I keep waiting for it to start fading, but it's still printing and printing and printing...."
